Procedures for this Condition
Carotid Artery Stenting
A small mesh, metal tube called a stent is used to reopen the blocked section of the carotid artery. It is intended to act like scaffolding to prop open the diseased section. It may prevent or slow future plaque buildup.
CryoPlasty® Therapy
CryoPlasty Therapy is a unique non-surgical therapy designed to improve the blood circulation in an artery while simultaneously treating it to inhibit restenosis. Left untreated, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) may result in leg sores that will not heal (ulcers), infection, gangrene, amputation of toes, feet or legs, or even death. PAD is a strong risk factor for a major event such as a heart attack or stroke.
Microsurgical Dilatation
Microsurgical dilatation is an advanced form of angioplasty that uses small blades called atherotomes to uniformly score the lesion before it is fully dilated.
Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA)
PTA is most commonly used to treat narrowings in arteries due to obstructions caused by atherosclerosis (hardening of an artery due to plaque).
Peripheral Stenting
Peripheral Stenting refers to the placement of small wire mesh tubes called stents into blood vessels outside of the heart in order to improve blood flow in areas where the vessels are obstructed.
